Top 5 Convenience Stores Apps Performance in the US Q4 2022

The fourth quarter of 2022 saw significant activity in the convenience store app category in the United States. Based on data from Sensor Tower, we analyzed the performance of the top 5 apps: Dollar General, 7-Eleven: Rewards & Shopping, Wawa, Family Dollar, and Casey's. Below, we dive into their weekly download and active user trends.

Dollar General showed a fairly stable download rate throughout the quarter. The app experienced a peak in downloads at around 89K in the week of November 21. However, weekly active users saw a gradual decline from 1.3M in late September to around 1.2M by the end of December.

Downloads for 7-Eleven: Rewards & Shopping varied, peaking at approximately 67.8K in mid-October. Active user numbers fluctuated but ended the quarter on a high note, rising to 1.5M in the last week of December from 1.4M in late September.

The Wawa app had a relatively steady download rate, reaching its peak at 61.4K in the last week of September. Active users for Wawa also showed consistency, with a slight increase from 410K in late September to 419K by the end of December.

Family Dollar saw a notable spike in downloads to approximately 61.7K in the last week of October. Active users exhibited a steady growth trend, climbing from 80.7K in late September to 95.7K by the end of December.

Lastly, Casey's downloads peaked at around 39.2K in late September but saw a gradual decline towards the end of the quarter. Active users showed a similar trend, decreasing from 348K in late September to approximately 307K by the end of December.
